In this video tutorial we will learn how to do step by step a bowline on a support. It is well known and appreciated for its safety. This knot is used in seamanship, mountaineering and also in hot air ballooning. Its special feature is that it creates an eye splice at the end of the line which can be fixed to an object or another line. The advantages of this knot are that it doesn´t slide nor does it loosen up. You can effortlessly undo it, even after being subjected to high tension. It is used in hot air ballooning to anchor the lines of a tethered balloon to fixed stations. It can loosen up if subjected to an annular force. Once finished, a half hitch is done for added safety, as we see on the video.
