Is it possible to go around the World on a hot air balloon?

A long time ago, before considering such a trip, there were smaller attempts, but yet were dangerous and thrilling adventures to this day.
Jean –Pierre Blanchard was the first man who considered crossing the Atlantic on a hot air balloon in the XVIII century, a riskier and more complicated journey than the one that cost his life when he tried to cross the English Channel. 200 years passed and several failed attempts were made to complete that feat. It was Maxie Anderson, Ben L. Abruzzo along with Larry Newman, who in 1978 on board of “ The Double Eagle II” (double eagle I ended up in the sea near Greenland on its first attempt) went on to complete the first successful Atlantic crossing from the Presque Isle in the United States to Miserey in France, a flight of 137 hours. All of these attempts were made on the west- east direction due to the fact that this one offered major opportunities of success. An inverse journey was still remaining, the Atlantic crossing from east to west; achievement completed by the Spaniards Jesus Gonzalez Green and Tomas Feliu in 1992, breaking 16 world records.
Seven years later, on March 1st 1999, Breitling Orbiter 3, piloted by Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones, completed another great challenge, circumnavigating the globe in 20 days.
